Spicy Spiked Ice Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 5 -6 cups ice cubes
  • ice , for serving
  • 1 lemon , juice of
  • 1 orange , juice of
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 9 fl oz light rum
  • lemon wedge, for serving

Directions:

  1. Place tea bags in a small bowl. Add boiling water and steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Fill a large pitcher with ice cubes. Pour sugar over ice. Add lemon and orange juices, cinnamon and cloves.
  3. Pour hot tea over ice and stir with a wooden spoon until most of the ice dissolves and tea has cooled.
  4. Chill until ready to serve.
  5. To serve, fill tall glasses with ice. Add a shot of light rum to each. Pour iced tea through a strainer to remove cloves and fruit pulp.
  6. Fill glasses with tea. Serve with extra sugar and lemon wedges.
