Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 73 g (1/3 cup firmly packed) light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (stick) margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp low-fat (1%) milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8x8-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, with an electric mixer on medium speed, combine the sugar and margarine. Blend in the egg and milk until smooth. Add the flour mixture to the margarine mixture in thirds, and blend until smooth, 2 minutes. Stir in the raisins.
  4. Spread in the baking pan and bake until the edges just start to pull away from the sides of the pan, about 12 minutes. Cool completely and cut into 9 bars.
