Spicy Mixed Nuts

Ingredients:

  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 8 oz pecans (2 cups)
  • 8 oz salted cashews (2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, mix egg whites and the water until blended.
  3. Stir in nuts.
  4. Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
  5. Spread nut mixture in a single layer in a jelly-roll pan.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes; stir.
  7. Reduce heat to 200 degrees and bake for 30 minutes longer.
  8. With a fork loosen nuts from pan.
  9. Cool
  10. This makes 4 cups of nuts.
