Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Wash lentil, add water and bring to a boil in a large saucepan.
  2. Lower heat, cover, and cook 15 minutes.
  3. Add onions and carrots.
  4. Cook 15 min.
  5. More or until lentils are very tender.
  6. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  7. Stir in bread crumbs, egg, garlic salt, oregano, and salt.
  8. Melt butter in large skillet and drop lentil mixtute by one-half cupfulls in hot butter; flattening mounds w/ spatula.
  9. Cook until firm and golden brown on both sides.
  10. Top each patty w/ 1 slice cheese; heat until melted.
  11. Serve on toasted buns.
