Spicy Apples and Red Cabbage

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Saute onion in butter in a large kettle until lightly browned.
  2. Add raisins, cabbage, and apple.
  3. Tie pickling spice in wet piece of cheesecloth.
  4. Add to cabbage mixture and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover and cook over low heat for about 45 minutes.
  6. Mix in sugar and vinegar; stir into cabbage.
  7. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. Remove spice bag.
  9. Serve.
