Southern Whiskey And Pecan Cake

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Line three loaf pans with aluminum foil.
  2. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
  3. Beat egg whites until they stand in soft peaks.
  4. Then beat in sugar.
  5. Without washing the beater, beat yolks until thick.
  6. Cream butter; beat in gradually the brown and white sugars.
  7. Add egg yolks and beat well.
  8. Mix flour, pecans and raisins that have been soaked in boiling water and a splash of Whiskey then drained ;)
  9. Sift together flour, baking powder and nutmeg.
  10. Add to the butter mixture.
  11. Add whiskey.
  12. Stir in the floured nuts and raisins.
  13. Fold in the egg whites.
  14. Fill pans and bake for about 2 hours.
