Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of regular spam
  • 1 bundle of watercress ( kangkong ) or spinach,get the leaves and stems
  • 1 bundle of string beans, cut to 2 inches long
  • 3 small taro ( gabi )
  • 3 pieces okra , slice to 2 inches long
  • 3 pieces long green pepper
  • salt , according to taste

Directions:

  1. Cut Spam into quarters per can to make 8 cubes.
  2. Boil Spam, pork cube, taro, onion and tomatoes in water for 5 to 8 minutes until taro is tender.
  3. Mash 1 taro in the soup, because this will make the soup a little bit thick.
  4. Add all the veggies except the kangkong leaves and let it cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until veggies are almost cook.
  5. Add the kangkong leaves first then the tamarind flavor cube or sinigang mix.
  6. Let it boil for another minute without cover.
  7. Add salt according to your desired taste.
  8. Served with fish sauce or patis on the side.
