Salmon Macaroni Scallop

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup macaroni
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 dash of grated nutmeg
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1 (1/2 lb) can salmon, flaked
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup bread, cubes

Directions:

  1. Cook macaroni according to directions on box.
  2. Grease a casserole dish.
  3. Melt in saucepan 4 tblsp butter.
  4. Remove from heat and blend in flour, salt, pepper, dry mustard, grated onion and nutmeg.
  5. Gradually stir in 2 cups milk and cook the sauce, stirring constantly until smoothly thickened.
  6. Add the shredded cheese to the sauce.
  7. Stir in the macaroni, celery and the flaked salmon.
  8. Turn into prepared casserole.
  9. Melt the 1 tblsp butter and add the bread cubes.
  10. Use to border casserole.
  11. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven about 30 minutes.
