Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar - add vanilla.
  2. Dissolve baking soda in water and add to the butter mixture.
  3. Add flour and then fold in beaten eggs.
  4. Add nuts and dates and mix well with wooden spoon or by hand (dough will be stiff).
  5. Drop on cookie sheets with teaspoon.
  6. Decorate with cherries.
  7. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 to 18 minutes.
