Rich Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  • step 1
  • 1- 8 oz. package. cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • step 2
  • 1/2 cup. marg . or butter
  • 3/4 cup. water
  • 1 1/2 oz. choc . (or 4 1/2 tsp. cocoa & 1 1/2 tsp. butter)
  • step 3
  • 2 cup. sugar
  • 2 cup. flour
  • step 4
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 12 oz. package. chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine Step 1 ingred. and set aside
  2. __________________
  3. In a small pan, melt Step 2 ingred. to boiling
  4. __________________
  5. In a large bowl, measure Step 3 ingred.
  6. Add melted (and still warm) ingred. from Step 2
  7. Mix together. (It will be thick.)
  8. __________________
  9. Add Step 4 ingred. to large bowl mixture.
  10. Beat until mixed well.
  11. Pour into a 9 X13 sprayed cake pan.

  13. Dot batter with cream cheese mixture from Step 1.
  14. Use a butter knife or spatula to drag through mixture and batter to swirl cream cheese mixture. (Don't overwork it- drag through once)
  15. __________________
  16. Sprinkle 12 oz. pkg. of choc. chips evenly over the batter.
  17. Bake at 350* for 40-50 mins.
  18. Use toothpick test- DON'T OVERBAKE!
