Raisin Bread (not Bread Machine)

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 package raisins
  • 1 3/4 cups water or 1 3/4 cups milk

Directions:

  1. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Melt butter in the microwave, let cool it cool to lukewarm temperature.
  3. Add warm water or milk to dry mixture, then add butter.
  4. Mix all ingredients together and let stand for a minute.
  5. Add flour to the mixture and stir until it forms a ball.
  6. Flour countertop, dump out the dough and knead for at least five minutes or until dough no longer sticks to counter.
  7. Place in greased bowl and cover.
  8. Let rise for 1 hour, then punch the dough down.
  9. Let rise for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  10. Place dough into breadpan and bake at 325 for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
