Pole Beans and New Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs pole beans
  • 2 lbs small new potatoes
  • 1 smoked ham hock , about 1/2 lb
  • 1/3 cup water

Directions:

  1. String the beans.
  2. Peel the potatoes or cut them in half.
  3. Put the beans in the bottom of a heavy saucepan.
  4. Add the potatoes, ham hock, and water.
  5. Simmer, covered, until the potatoes are done, about 30 to 45 minutes.
