Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 5 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Beat shortening and sugar, add eggs, mix well.
  3. Mix in sour cream, salt, soda, and nutmeg.
  4. Mix in flour-only adding enough to make a stiff dough. Roll out, cut and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Decorate. Test in the oven, usually about 8 minutes.
