Ingredients:

  • 4 lb. regular breakfast bacon
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne
  • 1/4 powdered ginger (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300ºF.
  2. Separate bacon slices and place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
  3. Mix sugar, cayenne and ginger in small bowl.
  4. Sprinkle over bacon, evenly coating (try not to get it on the paper as the sugar will burn)
  5. Bake in oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until sugar is caramelized.
  6. Watch carefully, because it will burn. Remove from oven
  7. Cool slightly and sugar will harden.
  8. Serve as an appetizer with drinks.
