Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg yolk, vanilla,and flour; mix well. Spread in a 15 1/2 by 10 1/2 well greased pan. Beat egg white slightly and brush on top. Sprinkle with nuts. bake 30 minutes at 325 degrees. Cut while warm and remove when cool. Makes 5 dozen.
