  1. Grease baking sheets with butter, and dust with flour.
  2. Cream 2 tablespoons butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine 1/2 cup flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Fold in pecans.
  3. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls, 3 inches apart, onto prepared baking sheets; bake at 400° for 3 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool slightly before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
