Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, cream the shortening, peanut butter and sugars. Beat in egg. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well.
  2. Roll into 1-1/2-in. balls. Place 3 in. apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with a fork. Bake at 375° for 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to a wire rack. Yield: 1 dozen.
