Ingredients:

  • 2 3/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Using pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  4. Combine buttermilk, egg and vanilla.
  5. Stir into flour mixture with peaches until just combined.
  6. On lightly floured surface knead dough 5-6 times.
  7. Pat dough into 3/4 thick circle.
  8. Cut into 10 wedges.
  9. Place on a baking sheet. Brush with buttermilk and sprinkle with sugar and/or cinnamon.
  10. Bake 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes on parchment or until golden brown.
  11. Cool on racks.
