Ingredients:

  • 3 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2-3/4 cup ice water

Directions:

  1. Mix flour, salt, and sugar together.
  2. Add butter and cut in with a pastry cutter or two knives.
  3. Slowly add between 1/2 cup up to 3/4 cup water while mixing together, until the dough holds together.
  4. Put dough on work surface and shape into a square.
  5. Divide the dough in 1/2 and wrap each in plastic wrap.
  6. Chill at least one hour before using.
