Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 cups thinly sliced pared apples
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. In small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and 1/2 cup walnuts.
  2. Place apples on bottom of greased 8 inch shallow baking dish; sprinkle apples with sugar-nut mixture.
  3. Mix remaining sugar and dry ingredients together.
  4. Combine egg, milk and melted butter; add to dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  5. Pour over apples and sprinkle remaining nuts over top.
  6. Bake in 325°F oven for 55 minutes.
  7. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream flavored with cinnamon.
