  1. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, nuts, dates, raisins, and coconut. Mix well. Add the flour and beat until blended. Bake in a wax-paper-lined 8x8x2 inch baking pan in a moderate oven, 350*, for 40 minutes. While still warm, cut into 2- inch squares.
