  1. Combine cheese and butter; mix well. Set aside.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, and pepper in a large mixing bowl, mixing well. Gradually add flour mixture to cheese mixture, mixing until dough is no longer crumbly. Form dough into a ball.
  3. Use a cookie gun to shape dough into straws, following manufacturer's instructions, or use the following procedure: Divide dough into fourths; roll each portion into a rectangle 1/3- inch thick on waxed paper. Use a pastry wheel to cut dough into 4- x 1/2-inch strips.
  4. Place strips or straws on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with additional paprika. Store straws in airtight containers, placing waxed paper between layers.
