Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating between the addition of each yolk.
  2. Add chopped nuts and dates, then the flour, salt and baking powder, which have been sifted together once.
  3. Lastly, fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla.
  4. Bake in greased shallow pan for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  5. Cut in bars and roll in fruit sugar.
