Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in egg. Stir in cocoa, milk and vanilla.
  2. Stir flour, baking powder and salt together and add along with nuts (if desired). Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased pan. Bake in 375°F oven for 10-12 minutes.
  3. •Variation: omit nuts and replace with 1 cup (or more) chocolate chips.
  4. •Variation: sprinkle with confectioners' (icing) sugar after baking.
