Nita Akakiia (Stuffed Pawpaw)

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup cooked rice
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Fry the onion in the oil over a low heat.
  2. Cut the top off the pawpaw, scoop out the seeds.
  3. Put all other ingredients into a bowl and mix all together.
  4. Fill the pawpaw with the mixture.
  5. Replace the top of the pawpaw securing with toothpicks.
  6. Brush the outside with oil or butter.
  7. Bake at 350 deg F until the vegetable is soft[about 45 minutes].
  8. Serve with gravy or tomato sauce.
