Mothers Applesauce Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp clove
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar together.
  2. Add beaten eggs.
  3. Add applesauce and vanilla.
  4. Sift together flour, soda, salt , cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
  5. Add to applesauce mixture.
  6. Put into a greased 9x13 pan.
  7. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes at 350.
