Ingredients:

  • 2 cups
  • 6 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 medium tomato, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Directions:

  1. Add dal, water, turmeric and 1 tbsp olive oil to pressure cooker.
  2. Cook for 2 whistles.
  3. While dal is cooking, add onion and remaining olive oil to a sauce pan and cook onion until golden. Then add tomato and any other spices you want.
  4. Once dal and onion mixture are cooked, add onion mixture to dal. Add water based on preference and cook until creamy consistency.
