Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 tbsp molasses
  • 2 cup flour sifted
  • 2 tsp baking soda sifted
  • 1 tsp cinnamon sifted
  • 1 tsp ginger sifted
  • 1 tsp cloves sifted

Directions:

  1. Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar, add molasses, and egg
  2. Add sifted dry ingredients and beat until smooth
  3. Roll into small balls about the size of walnuts
  4. Dip into granulated sugar and place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet.
  5. Bake 375 for 6 mins, store in air tight container in fridge
