Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
  2. Sift the flour, salt and baking powder together.
  3. Combine coffee, bourbon or brandy, chocolate and butter in top of double boiler. Heat until chocolate and butter have melted and the mixture is smooth, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour chocolate mixture into a large bowl. Using an electric mixer on low speed, gradually beat in the sugar. Continue beating until the sugar has dissolved.
  5. Raise the speed to medium and add the sifted ingredients. Mix well then beat in the eggs and vanilla until thoroughly blended.
  6. Pour batter into well greased 3 quart bundt pan that has been dusted lightly with cocoa powder.
  7. Bake until cake tester inserted comes out clean, about 1 hour 20 minutes.
  8. Let cool in pan for 15 minutes, then unmold onto a wire rack.
  9. Let cool completely.
  10. When cake is cool, dust lightly with cocoa powder. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
