Ingredients:

  • 500 ml caster sugar
  • 125 g margarine
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 5 ml caramel essence

Directions:

  1. 1. Combine condensemilk, castor sugar, margarine and golden syrup in a microwavable bowl (leave out caramel essence).
  2. 2. Place bowl in the microwave on high for 11-12 minutes (Stir every 3 minutes).
  3. 4. Mixture is ready when it is bubbling and pulling away from the sides of the bowl. Add in the caramel essence and stir quickly.
  4. 5. Por the mixture into a shallow, greased container (preferably a square baking tin).
  5. 6. Leave to stand for awhile to cool down before cutting.
