Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • litre stick margarine
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • litre cup water
  • litre/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • litre stick margarine
  • 6 tbsp milk
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • litre box powdered sugar
  • litre tsp vanilla
  • litre cup pecans (optional)

Directions:

  1. Brownies:
  2. Sift sugar and flour together in large bowl.
  3. Mix margarine, shortening, cocoa, and water in another bowl and cook together to a rapid boil.
  4. Pour the cooked mixture over flour and sugar.
  5. Beat well.
  6. Add milk, eggs, vanilla, baking soda, and cinnamon.
  7. Mix well and pour into greased and floured 11 x 16 cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until firm.
  8. **REMEMBER: toothpick test does NOT work on fudgy brownies!**
  9. NOTE: The batter will be very thin, but do NOT add more flour.
  10. Icing:
  11. Begin making the icing when the brownies come out of the oven. Combine margarine, milk and cocoa.
  12. Bring to a rolling boil.
  13. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla and pecans. Beat well and spread over warm brownies.
