Macadamia French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 8 oz loaf italian bread, cut in 1 inch slices

Directions:

  1. Whisk eggs, juice, milk, sugar, nutmeg and vanilla together until well blended. Place bread in a single layer in a tight fitting casserole. Pour the milk mixture over the bread. cover and refrigerate overnight, turning the bread once.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F
  3. Pour the melted butter on a jelly roll pan and arrange the soaked bread slices in a single layer on the pan. Sprinkle with the macadamia nuts and bake until golden for 20-25 minutes. Serve with warm maple syrup and butter.
  4. Preparation time does not include overnight fridge time.
