Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Combine first six ingredients, stirring well.
  2. Fit bread slices in a single layer into a lightly greased 13x9x2 baking dish.
  3. Pour egg mixture over bread slices.
  4. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight, turning bread once.
  5. The next morning, pour butter into a 15x10x1 jellyroll pan.
  6. Place bread slices in a single layer in pan.
  7. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle with nuts and bake an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Garnish with powdered sugar and/or nutmeg.
  10. Serve with maple syrup if desired.
