  1. Cut peel and white membrane from oranges and discard. Thinly slice fruit crosswise.
  2. Line salad plates with lettuce leaves and arrange orange slices on top.
  3. Sprinkle fruit with sugar. Drizzle olive oil over salads. Add salt and pepper to taste.
