Italian Cookies From Calabria

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 cup crisco
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 of either chopped nuts or coconut

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degree's
  2. Sift dry ingredients together, cut crisco into flour mixture (should be crumbly)
  3. Make a well in the flour mix and add eggs, vanilla, and milk
  4. Mix by hand (will be sticky)
  5. Put flour on hands and role into balls or figure 8's
  6. Bake 10-12 minutes and then frost with a simple white icing, while icing is still wet dip the cookie into the nuts or coconut.
