Honey Roasted Red Onions - Tyler Florence

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Trim the stem end of the onions, leaving the root end intact. Peel the outer papery layers off and discard. Cut onions in half through the root end. Place in a baking dish, cut sides up.
  2. Top each onion half with a 1/2 tbsp pat of butter. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over and around onions. Drizzle honey over and around onions as well. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Drop thyme stems on top.
  3. Bake in a preheated 325°F oven 40-60 minutes. If the balsamic starts to get too thick, add a little water. Remove when tender and brown.
