Ingredients:

  1. In large mixing bowl, dry blend the yeast, salt,sugar, and flour.Then add the 4 cups warm water.For yeast breads, the water should feel quite warm to the touch but not hot or it will kill the yeast.
  2. Stir thoroughly, or beat with a hand mixer until blended.
  3. Add the 3 beaten eggs, melted shortening and enough flour to make a soft dough that is easily handled.
  4. Turn onto floured surface and knead until smooth.
  5. Place in bowl greased with margarine and turn to grease top.
  6. Cover and let rise until it has doubled.
  7. Knead down and form into rolls and place on greased cookie sheets.
  8. Cover and let rise until doubled.
  9. Bake in 375 F oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
  10. Maks about 70 rolls.
  11. Suggestions.....
  12. Form the rolls by flouring the hands, then cutting off egg-sized lumps of dough, turning the edges under until a smooth ball is formed. Place an inch apart for soft sides, farther for brown sides..
  13. Bowl of dough can be refrigerated for several days, punching down once or twice a day and removing enough dough for fresh rolls.
