Grandma's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1 kg flour

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and beat again till creamy.
  3. Add sour cream, vanilla and bicarb.
  4. Beat again till smooth and creamy.
  5. Add flour, stir it in by hand till a soft dough forms.
  6. Dust work surface with extra flour, roll dough out to 1/2 a centimeter thick.
  7. Cut into shapes.
  8. Bake at 175 C for 15 - 20 monutes till lightly browned, longer if you want them crisp.
  9. Sprinkle with plain or coloured sugar before baking or ice and decorate after baking.
