Grandmas Simple Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening (she always used crisco)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 lb chopped nut meats (optional)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Cream sugar and shortenning
  2. Stir in eggs
  3. Add bananas crush them with the spoon and mix
  4. Add remaining ingredients and mix well
  5. Batter will be soft, pour into loaf pan
  6. Bake 350 for 1 hour.
  7. Check for doneness: a toothpick will come out clean.
  8. Delicious!
