Grandma's Old Fashioned Oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 cups dry oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 (5 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar , to taste

Directions:

  1. Bring the 2 1/2 cups water to a boil.
  2. Then add the salt.
  3. While stirring constantly, gradually add the oatmeal.
  4. Continue to stir the oatmeal and add the sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Cook 1 minute and add the evaporated milk.
  6. After adding the evaporated milk reheat to boiling.
  7. Pour oatmeal in a serving dish and top with the butter and brown sugar.
