Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Break the beans into 1/2 inch pieces.
  2. Wash and set aside.
  3. Chop ham hocks and onions in to bite-size pieces.
  4. In a a large pot heat at medium heat the bacon fat or butter.
  5. Add your ham hocks and onions. Cook until onions are tender.
  6. Add 16 ounces of water.
  7. Bring water to a boil and add the beans.
  8. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Cover and cook to the desired tenderness.
  10. Beans will cook down to a grayish thick sauce.
