Grandma J's Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Directions:

  1. Blend shortening, butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and blend well. Add flour, salt, bakign powder, and baking soda and mix. Then add oatmeal and fully mix all ingredients. Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet. Flatten with fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
