Ingredients:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees. sift flour, baking soda,spices, and salt; set aside. Cream butter and sugar till fluffy. Beat in mollasses, eggs, and vanilla, mix well. Mix in dry ingredients in three parts to mix thoroughly. Roll into balls, and coat with flour or sugar, flatten each before baking for 5 minute Makes 10 dozen.
