German Hot Slaw

Ingredients:

  • 8 pieces bacon
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 3/4 cup water

Directions:

  1. Fry bacon until crisp; remove and drain on paper towels.
  2. Add sugar, salt, and pepper to drippings.
  3. Stir until dissolved.
  4. Add vinegar and water, cooking briefly.
  5. Pour over cabbage.
  6. Top with bacon.
