Frosted Molasses Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup nutmeats
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening, sugar and egg. Add Molasses and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients. Add alternately with milk. Add nuts and raisins.
  2. Bake in 9x9-inch pan at 350F for 35 minutes.
  3. Frost with Molassses Butter Frosting.
