Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Set peach slices aside on paper towels to drain
  2. Combine drained peaches, candies, sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg in microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Microwave on high(100% power) for 1 minute; stir. Microwave 1 minute more.
  4. Stir until candies are dissolved. Set aside to cool.
  5. Combine flour and salt in medium bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Add cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing until dry ingredients are moistened and dough can be gathered into a ball
  7. Divide dough in half.
  8. Roll to 1/8 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  9. Using a 5 inch cutter (or 5 inch bowl) cut 6 circles from each half.
  10. Re-roll scraps if necessary
  11. Heat oil to 365 degrees F in a deep saucepan or deep fryer
  12. Place 1 tablespoon of filling on each dough-circle.
  13. Moisten edges with water.
  14. Fold in half over filling; seal with fork
  15. Fry a few pieces at a time 5 minutes or until golden brown.
  16. Remove with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels.
  17. Cool 5 minutes.
  18. Sprinkle with sugar
