Dutch Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  1. Cream butter in a medium mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg, and beat well. Gradually stir in flour. (Dough will be sticky.)
  2. Divide dough in half. Place each portion of dough in well-greased 8-inch square pans. With floured hands, press dough into pans.
  3. Place pans in a cold oven. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
  4. Remove from oven, and cut into 2-inch squares while warm. Remove from pans, and cool on wire racks.
