Delicious Corn Chowder For Autumn

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cubed, pared potatoes (about 4 medium)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2-1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 2 cups milk

Directions:

  1. In large saucepan with cover, saute bacon, over moderate heat, until golden
  2. Add onion, potatoes, and 1 cup water
  3. Cover; bring to boil, simmer about 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender but not mushy
  4. Remove cover, set saucepan aside
  5. In medium saucepan with cover, combine corn, heavy cream, sugar, and butter
  6. Simmer, covered over low heat, about 10 minutes
  7. Add to potato mixture with remaining ingredients
  8. Cook, stirring occasionally over low heat, until heated through
  9. DO NOT BOIL
