Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Grease 8-inch square pan.
  3. In a medium saucepan combine dates, evaporated milk, sugar and vanilla extract.
  4. Cook over medium-low heat stirring occasionally for 8-10 minutes until mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl until fluffy and creamy.
  7. Beat in flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
  8. With floured fingers press 1/2 of crust mixture in bottom of pan.
  9. Spread date filling over crust.
  10. Crumble remaining crumb mixture evenly over date filling.
  11. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Serve warm.
