Ingredients:

  • 1 package dates pitted
  • 1/8 lb butter or marg.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 heaping tsp b. soda
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  1. Put soda over sliced dates and add boiled water
  2. Cream sugar, shortening; add eggn nuts dates, vanilla and flour.
  3. Bake in loaf pan about and hour (It usually takes less) at 325.
  4. It slices better if it has sat for a day.
